When going to a hair salon to get a hair cut, I want layers, but do I have to tel the people where, or can I..?

Just tell them that I want layers, and let them see what is good for me. If I can't, can you please help? Can I have some websites that could help me? Thank you, so much!When going to a hair salon to get a hair cut, I want layers, but do I have to tel the people where, or can I..?
If they have a good reputation, you can go ahead and just ask for layers. A good one will consult you about everything they do(how short for the first layer, which way do you like your bangs, do you want to be able to put it up, etc.) or if you leave it entirely up to them they will at least talk you through it so you know what you're getting into.

If you're not sure about the place, bring in a picture.When going to a hair salon to get a hair cut, I want layers, but do I have to tel the people where, or can I..?
unless you want some particular kind of layers (longer layers, more choppy layers, less layers, lots of layers) then you should tell them, otherwise you can just say layers in general and ask them to do wat seems good, or you can show them a picture from the books and mags they have or u can search pictures and print out the one u want and show them wen ur there
Well, I have a personal hair cutter now, but before..

I used to go to the Hair Cuttery and ask for lots of choppy layers.

They always came out good, and since I always got a little shorter than a medium length cut, theres was a a lot more.
Just find a picture and bring it in ;

or just tell them in the mirror I want layers here, here and here... ;

or ask for a recommendation.
tell them you want layers and tell them where you want your shortest layer to be and your longest (if you're getting it trimmed). then theyll figure out where to put the layers in between.
its easier if you have a pic but if you just say I want layers they will suggest were it will look good on you
