Has anyone ever noticed that when they get their hair washed and cut at a salon...?

...That their hair looks lighter. Why is this and how can I get the same affect at home without dying, highlighting or putting Sun-In onto my hair (which acutally contains bleach by the way). Do they use special shampoo and conditioner or something?Has anyone ever noticed that when they get their hair washed and cut at a salon...?
