What do the usually do first at the salon? Cut or color?

My stylist always colors my hair first then she cuts and styles. I'm not exactly sure why, except in the aspect of getting rid of the damaged hair, since coloring is hard on it. What do the usually do first at the salon? Cut or color?
I always colour the hair first because it goes on dry hair, so when it is washed off, i have nice wet hair to cut, i assume some might cut it first by spraying it down with a water spray, i personally dont think you get a really nice cut that way, plus it just adds time to the whole process because you would have to then dry it again when finished cutting, so that is why.What do the usually do first at the salon? they color first so they can charge you more for long hair. its easiest to request them to cut then color, if they don't want to do that then chop your appoitment in half thats what I did, I found out that I saved a lot of money.
They usually color first and then cut away all the damaged hair and style it for you.
